Documentary Film

The Pursuit of Justice is a powerful film that, through individual examples of injustice, demonstrates the need for systemic reform of adult guardianship systems in all 50 states.  It calls for federal oversight through effective implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the due process clause of the United States Constitution.  The film should stimulate people with disabilities, seniors, and others who are at risk of being drawn into these proceedings to join with their supporters to demand reform.

During an earlier era of his 45 year career in civil rights advocacy, attorney Thomas F. Coleman was described as "indefatigable" in his quest for justice for populations subject to discrimination.  Over the past few years, that passion for justice has focused on people with disabilities and seniors whose rights are systematically violated in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings.  The Pursuit of Justice tracks Coleman, his colleague Dr. Nora J. Baladerian, and a growing network of supporters as they fight for reform.
